Tyler Bruening treks North with World of Outlaws; fourth-place outing at Hamilton County Speedway

Embarking on a week-long World of Outlaws trip, the Skyline Motorsports team made the haul to Independence (Iowa) Motor Speedway on Monday afternoon for the Storm Shield Shootout.

Falling from fourth-to-sixth in his heat race, Bruening started 16th in the $10,000-to-win main event and made up five spots to finish 11th.

Right back in action on Tuesday at Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa), Tyler qualified sixth-fastest in his group and followed it up with a runner-up outing in his heat race. For another $10,000 payday, Bruening scored a Top-5 finish in fourth.

After an off-day on Wednesday, the team rolled into I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minn.) on Thursday before rain showers washed out the evening.

The following night at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, N.D.) was also rained out and postponed to Sunday, June 30th.

Finally dodging the rain at Norman County Raceway (Ada, Minn.) on Saturday, Bruening finished fourth in his heat race which earned him a fifth-row starting spot in the $15,000-to-win main event. Falling outside of the Top-10, Tyler rallied to finish ninth.

Checked in at River Cities Speedway (Grand Forks, N.D.) on Sunday for the make-up event, Tyler started on the pole of his heat before settling for a runner-up finish. Starting fifth with $12,000 on the line, Bruening ran inside the Top-5 until he fell to 14th late.

Bruening is currently sixth in the series point standings.
