GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 4, 2023) Landing a weekend-high fourth-place finish at River Cities Speedway on Friday, June 30, the overall four-night stretch for Cade Dillard through Iowa, North Dakota, and Minnesota was a bit of a rollercoaster.
Starting at Mason City Motor Speedway on June 27, 40 laps saw the No. 97 move in and out of the top ten before settling back into a tenth-place finish. Red River Valley Speedway on June 29, Cade took the green fourth. Starting strong through the opening laps, Cade slipped back to eighth by Lap 14. One lap later, things turned south when Cade nearly spun off the top of the third and fourth turns. The final result was a 14th place finish.
River Cities Speedway on June 30, Cade positioned himself on the pole for the 40-lap feature. Slipping to second on the start, Dillard would end up fourth when the checkered flag dropped.
Another night with a strong start from the right of the front row at I-94 EMR Raceway on July 1, Dillard led the opening eight revolutions. Chased by Dennis Erb, Jr. the pair were nearly door-to-door, with Erb taking the point on Lap 9. Moving back to their on Lap 17, Cade would come back after the runner-up spot on Lap 24. Getting slipped back to sixth, things would end on Lap 30 with mechanical issues resulting in a 21st-place finish.
